After School Programs
The London Towne PTA is pleased to offer our much
anticipated After School Program (ASP) 2009-10 clubs and Fall Session
classes. This year we will offer a variety of clubs sponsored by parent
volunteers/community members and classes taught by respected local
companies. We hope you’ll take this opportunity to introduce your child to a
new academic area, a new sport, a new skill and/or a new artistic
experience.
CLUBS:
We are very excited to announce the LTES 2009 Fall After-School Program
Clubs. Clubs will run from October 2009 to April 2010 after school
dismisses: 2:50p – 3:50p (unless otherwise noted). Please
pay careful attention to club description, times, and meeting dates.
Registration is now closed. Please do not send your child to a club
meeting unless they have received an official confirmation notice from the
sponsor. These notices will come home in the Tuesday folder one week before
the club starts. Most clubs will require some form of volunteering
(snacks, attendance, etc.) as a little help always goes a long way toward a
well-organized, well-supervised, fun program for our kids. To join a club,
please complete the
After School Program Registration form. If you have any questions or you
are interested in sponsoring a club please contact
Jill Hamilton.
We’d love to add your club to our Fall line up!

In its second year, GEMS supports girls’ interests in math, science, and
technology. We believe that when children are encouraged to pursue their
interests, they are inspired to think about their futures, and are better
prepared to pursue a wide range of exciting opportunities in middle school,
high school, college, and beyond. Students participate in a wide variety of
experiments, hands on workshops with guest lecturers, and engaging science
related activities. For more information, contact
Tabitha Morrison.

The goal of this club will be to encourage students to be more involved in
their community by teaching them to be civic-minded, goal-oriented, and
helpful. Club programs will focus on students actively involved in volunteer
opportunities that support the LT community(recycling, food drives,
Watershed clean-up, pet adoption, Park & Rec. Services). This club goes a
long way to preparing students to meet FCPS volunteering standards. Not to
mention it looks wonderful on a college application! For more information,

Faith Portillo.
