2011 - 2012 Reflections Contest Information
The National PTA believes all children deserve a quality arts education
and encourages students to pursue artistic expression through participation
in its annual arts Reflections Program. The Reflections Program was started
in 1969 by then Colorado PTA President Mary Lou Anderson. The program offers
students the opportunity to create works of art for fun and recognition.
Students in preschool through 12th grade are encouraged to create and submit
works of art in six areas: dance choreography, film production, literature,
musical composition, photography, and the visual arts (which includes art
forms such as drawing, painting, print making, and collage).
The theme for this year's Reflections Program is "Diversity means..." Think
about what DIVERSITY means to you. Then create an original
piece of artwork in one of the six categories: dance choreography, film/video
productions, literature, musical composition, photography, and visual arts.
Express your thoughts and creativity and earn recognition.

award-winning entries from past years, visit
Virginia PTA Reflections Gallery.
Congratulations to all 43 Reflections Program Participants! This was not as
many as in past years, however, the entries showed incredible thoughtfulness and
creativity. The artwork and other entries will be on display at the school Mon.,
Nov. 14th through Fri., Nov. 18th.
